Los Angeles, California

I climbed up to Radio Hill Gardens to get a better look at the city, to get off the streets for a little while. There were surprisingly few camps hidden along the trails, even as I got turned around and ended up along the Arroyo Seco Parkway.

After passing up eating at either Won Kok and My Dung I settled on Mama Lu’s Dumpling House for fried dumplings and pork buns to go. From Chinatown it was a short walk to listen to the live band at the end of Olvera St, the open air Mexican marketplace.

I relaxed, eating fried pork buns in what felt like a Mexican Zócalo, listening to La Boda del Huitlacoche (En Vivo) by Carin Leon as the sun began to set behind Los Angeles City Hall.

The song is a silly wedding story that encourages everyone to not to waste time on insults, and to have fun and love each other.

It makes the whole city feel friendly, and I love LA a little more.
