After a brief time alone in the desert to reflect, I only had two unanswered questions. Just because it was possible to hike for the rest of my life, was that what I wanted to do with the time remaining? And, what does carrying a sage bundle say about a person? #gettinglost #AZT #sobo

Meeting @soulslosher again, a friend hiking the Arizona Trail that I hiked with in 2011, felt like stepping back in time, while also realizing how far we’ve come. After two weeks of lazy camping in Coconino National Forest it’s time to go do something besides daydream. Hiked into town to catch a train and for excellent fish and chips like I haven’t had since New England. Sure beats the cucumber and butter sandwiches I’ve been eating the last couple of days. #wandering
VoilĂ ! Dinner is prepared! Steak sandwiches! And apparently I won’t have to shave my legs anytime soon, this Walmart utensil strainer as a wood stove has singed all the hair off. Makes me a little apprehensive to use, probably isn’t going to be a regular thing. #woodstovecooking #wandering
Something ate through my charging cord while I was taking a nap. Haven’t been able to use my phone much for the last few days. Not sure if that’s a negative or positive? #lazydays #wandering
Thinking about getting rid of my tent. Slept in my rain poncho last night instead and it worked surprisingly well as a bivy. Hmm… Drop three pounds of comfort? Really sleep outside? #wandering #rangerroll
