I downloaded the Worpress App to my *sort-of cell phone. It looks great, probably even works amazing for posting to your WordPress blog from your mobile if you have the data and/or memory. But I don’t.
That’s why there haven’t been a lot of blog posts while I have been on the road.
I’m on an extreme budget, so a new phone or extra data for this Tracfone aren’t really options. Esp. for something as silly as journalling my travels.
Even Facebook has been cut way back as it can burn too much data unless I’m on wifi somewhere with a wall outlet so I don’t drain the battery. So I rely on Instagram which connects with Facebook smoothly.
WordPress is another thing entirely. I can’t have Instagram autopost unless I have an actual WordPress site with WordPress installed. There is actually a plugin for that. (Instagrate) This is a free WordPress site.
So, my idea to save data and keep this blog updated are to post the Instagram posts as blog posts manually while adding a title and tags. (And yeah, I know the sidebar plugin shows the latest one but I want a record of past photos stored here.)
Instagram allows 2,200 words per picture, that means a little less than 300 words per post, not including hashtags.
Should be enough for a blog post a day.
What do you think?
*Not really a cell phone. Just a prepaid phone with very little memory that I purchased for $16.
