For the last three months I have been living in Cancun, Mexico, taking a break from hiking, focusing on all the projects I’ve had in my head for far too long.
I came to get dental work done, and haven’t yet found a reason to leave.
Since I’ve been here, I’ve built a crypto wallet for the Stellar network, multiple trading bots, and extracted old writing from a corrupted backup file that I’d given up on years ago. That has allowed me to rebuild, polish, and publish several short novels to Amazon Kindle, and reignited my desire to earn a living as a writer.
I have several books in the pipeline, mostly older projects for now, as I clear out headspace and wait for the markets to recover.
Life is easy. Living indoors has streamlined the process of being productive. I don’t have to find a place to camp, a water source, or put in miles until I’m exhausted. Mostly I sit in front of the laptop and build my dreams, with two cats to keep me company, Chai and Latte.
I have two more months before I have to start thinking about going somewhere else, until then, I’m going to write like it’s the last chance I’ll ever get.
